Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support a financial institution on a contract basis. The position focuses on maintaining account performance, resolving delinquency issues, and delivering effective customer interactions while working a 40-hour week.

Collection Specialist Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of past-due consumer and commercial accounts, following established collection practices to reduce delinquency.
• Contact customers by phone and written correspondence to discuss outstanding balances, secure payment commitments, and document all collection activity accurately.
• Review account histories and billing details to identify payment issues, recommend next steps, and support timely resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams to address account discrepancies, update records, and ensure collection efforts align with institutional policies.
• Monitor repayment arrangements and follow up consistently to improve account recovery and maintain service standards.
• Apply banking or credit union collection procedures while handling sensitive financial conversations with care and discretion.
