Position Overview3p‑11:30p every other weekend required.
Summary (Basic Purpose Of The Job)Provides the cleaning, maintaining, and restoring of all floors and carpets in the organization. Follows established schedules and all technical and administrative policies and procedures. Performs other duties including the restocking of supplies, daily cleaning, vacuuming, disinfecting, and other assigned projects. Provides quality service to every customer. Maintains floors per policy and procedure using the proper equipment. Follows all applicable safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred. - Experience:
One year of environmental services or housekeeping experience required. One year of floor care and carpet care experience preferred.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.
- Special training:
Ability to use heavy equipment including but not limited to scrubbers and burnishers. - Friendly demeanor. Customer service focused. Demonstrates care and compassion in every interaction.
- Performs daily cleaning in assigned areas using proper chemicals, correct mixtures, and equipment operation procedures. Properly cleans and disinfects all surfaces. Follows procedures for stripping and refinishing all floor types.
- Maintains and cares for workplace and assigned equipment. Properly follows dry and wet mopping procedures. Follows procedures for scrubbing and burnishing all hard flooring. Maintains endurance throughout the day to ensure proper use of machinery and effective cleaning within organization.
- Ensures floors are safe and clean during periods of inclement weather. Comes into work during periods of inclement weather to ensure proper floor care.
- Assists in maintaining a sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly facility. Property follows waste handling and disposal procedures. Follows departmental guidelines and marks project areas with appropriate warning signs.
- Cleans and maintains all floor care equipment and storage areas. Inspects and evaluates their personal work and makes improvements as needed. Follows procedures for extraction of carpets.
- Keeps supervisor or appropriate individual informed regarding any needed supplies or equipment issues.
- Maintains a positive attitude while engaging with all contacts within the hospital. Supports a team‑focused approach within the department and within the hospital.
- Removes debris and matter and cleans areas containing hazardous materials. Disinfects floors per standard protocols.
- Follows written and oral instructions. Responds to all requests in a timely manner.
- Performs a variety of other related housekeeping duties including cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, offices, halls, and ancillary departments.

Frequent: climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), carrying objects, twisting, bending, reaching forward & overhead, squat/kneel/crawl, wrist position deviation, pinching/fine motor activities. Occasional: keyboard use, repetitive motion, taste or smell, talk or hear. Continuous: standing, walking, push/pull. Lifting: floor to waist 30 lbs., waist level & above 30 lbs. Sensory: accurate near vision, accurate far vision, accurate color discrimination, accurate depth perception, accurate hearing.
Exposure risks: blood borne pathogens, chemical, airborne communicable disease, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations, extreme noise levels, dust/particulate matter.
