SummaryThe IBM Technical Specialist – Middleware reports to the Chief of the AOC’s Information Technology Office and provides technical expertise to ITO and assigned units. The role focuses on migrating and upgrading Web Sphere, and planning, designing, and assessing middleware infrastructures.
Qualifications and Skills- Experience migrating customer or vendor applications on Web Sphere between major versions.
- Expertise with current middleware technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with internal and external groups including vendors.
- Web Sphere Application Server 8.5 or higher
- IBM HTTP and/or Apache web servers
- UNIX/Linux (AIX/RHEL preferred)
- Pega BPM
- Automation scripting (Ansible, WAS, Unix/Linux, Cloud Formation preferred)
- Web Sphere MQSeries 8.0 or higher
- Data Power Gateway Administration
- Amazon Web Services
- Broadcom/CA APM (Wily/Introscope)
- IBM MDM/IIS (IBM Information Server)
- Web Focus Reporting Server
- Teach and convey technical or functional courses and concepts.
- Develop work programs, budgets, and schedule tasks effectively.
- Identify improvements to project standards for high quality services and products.
- Assess and recommend on‑site middleware infrastructure.
- Installation, configuration, and administration of Web Sphere Application Server and IBM HTTP server versions 8.5 and above.
- Configuration and administration of PEGA BPM v7.x and above.
- Migration of Web Sphere environments from one major release to another.
- Administration and configuration of Web Sphere MQSeries 8.0 or higher.
- Administration of AIX and RHEL servers.
- Develop Jython/JACL, wsadmin, Unix/Linux shell scripts.
- Develop, execute, and analyze AWS Cloud Formation scripts.
- Configure performance management tools such as Broadcom/CA APM for troubleshooting.
- Implement SSL/TLS configurations and certificate management.
- Network security, firewalls, ADCs, VIPs; integrate with Microsoft AD/ADLDS and IBM ISAM/Webseal.
- Administration and configuration of IBM Data Power Gateway (preferred).
- Installation, configuration, and administration of IBM MDM and IBM Information Server (preferred);
Web Focus Reporting Server (preferred). - Experience in a Dev Ops and cloud computing environment (preferred).
- Websphere Application Server Administration 8.5 or higher – Required – 8 Years
- IBM HTTP Server Administration – Required – 8 Years
- UNIX/Linux (AIX/RHEL) – Required – 8 Years
- PEGA BPM Administration – Required – 5 Years
- Automation Scripting (Ansible, Cloud Formation) – Required – 5 Years
- Web Sphere MQSeries – Required – 3 Years
