University Correctional Healthcare is seeking a Per Diem UCHC Staff Nurse Mental Health for New Jersey State Prison, located in Trenton, NJ. The Staff Nurse utilizes the nursing process to meet a variety of health care needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus. Works with a variety of health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment.
Responsibilities- Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the inmate-patient including adults (18 to 64 years), and geriatrics (65+) within the framework established by the correctional system.
- Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
- Uses current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing health care to inmate-patients.

- CPR Certification required

- Minimum of one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience required.
