Job Description POSITION TITLE
Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS
- Colorado Teaching Certificate, license or other legal credential required.
- Degree(s) required in area of major study.
- Kind and amount of prior job experience required.
- Alternative qualifications may be considered as deemed appropriate by the Board of Education.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal or designated supervisor by the Superintendent or the Board of Education.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist students in learning subject matter and social skills to support their development as responsible members of society.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.Plan and implement a program tailored to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.Create a positive and conducive classroom environment suitable for students' maturity and interests.Prepare for classes and maintain plans as requested.Encourage positive classroom behavior and guide students toward curriculum goals.Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them effectively to students.Use diverse instructional techniques and media appropriate for the location and student needs.Align instruction with the district’s educational philosophy and goals.Regularly assess student progress and provide reports and interventions as needed.Monitor learning abilities and seek specialist assistance when necessary.Protect students, equipment, and facilities through safety precautions.Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policies.Support school policies on student conduct, developing fair rules that respect diversity.Be available for parent and student consultations outside instructional hours as needed.Supervise paraprofessionals and volunteers, and collaborate on their performance evaluations.Engage in professional development and attend staff meetings and committees.Adhere to a professional dress code.Perform other duties as assigned.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment may be for ten, eleven, or twelve months, with salary and work year determined by the Trinidad School District #1 Board of Education.
