Lab Aide- Mt. San Rafeal Hospital

Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently. Has thorough knowledge of test requirements and send outs, assists in Clinical Laboratory as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: general phlebotomy of all ages, collecting swabs, computer entry of tests, filing and distributing reports, ordering and tracking send outs, inventory stocking and ordering of supplies, maintaining drawing area and stocking supplies.

• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills
• Must pass skills test (75%).

• High School diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Eighty hours of training in the proper procedure to be employed in the performance of venipuncture and skin punctures under the supervision of a Medical Technologist preferred.

• Intermittent movement throughout the hospital
• Intermittent bending and kneeling
• Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight
• Ability to read and understand English
• Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact with physicians, patients, families and staff in a professional manner
• Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature
• Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
