ANNUAL SALARY:
Position is a salaried position with an annual wage range: $28.51 up to $30.00 hourly after successful completion of ninety (90) day probationary period. (Salary will be $27.94 up to $29.40 hourly during 90-day probationary period).

Responsibilities
  • The Eligibility Programming Supervisor performs professional supervisory and administrative work coordinating and supervising the assignment and work of Eligibility Technicians who determine eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, LTSS, TANF, and Adult Financials under Colorado public assistance programs.
  • This position requires thorough working knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations for all public assistance programs, as well as knowledge of the CBMS (Colorado Benefits Management System) program, including the ability to supervise and train division staff in the program and systems administered by the State of Colorado.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and training staff within the Division of Economic Security Services at Las Animas County Dept. of Human Services (LACDHS).
  • Supervises Lead Technicians and provides management training to them to ensure productivity within their assigned teams.
  • Work involves the creation, direction, and monitoring of workflow to staff so as to complete program functions.
  • Maintains self awareness of federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to Human Services. Exercise sound judgment in applying said rules and regulations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to the situations presented.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assigns, schedules, evaluates and directs work of assigned employees; trains employees to render effective service to the division. Assigns special duties or makes changes in tasks to meet priority needs. Informs other agency divisions of staff workload that may impact the operation of other divisions.
  • Assists employees with scheduling/registering for training dates to best coincide with on the job training efforts.
  • Assists employees on problematic areas, implementation of policies, procedures and standards for efficient and effective operation, and maintains consistency in division operations.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, manages performance issues, makes hiring recommendations, and recommends salary adjustments. Ability to hold staff accountable to performance measures and outcomes. Performs case quality control reviews.
  • Assure compliance with established policies and procedures by reviewing CBMS dashboards and daily and weekly reports to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances; perform or assist subordinates in performing duties; adjust errors and complaints. Consequence of error may result in providing inaccurate information to the Director, eligibility staff and the public. Errors in determination could impact reimbursements to the county, negatively affect recipient grants, cause county to fall under a State corrective action plan, and/or result in the initiation of recovery efforts.
  • Review case files for complete and accurate client information and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance with program requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints from State and clients concerning programs and activities.
  • Oversees preparation of and attends State of Colorado Office of Administrative Courts (OAC) hearings for client appeals regarding eligibility determination.
