The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Correctional Officer I at Trinidad Correctional Facility (TCF). This facility, located 15 miles east of Trinidad, Colorado, covers 544 acres and has been operational since December 2001. It is a Level 2 Minimum Restrictive facility designed to accommodate up to 500 inmates, with a focus on safety, security, and offender reintegration.

Position Overview

The Correctional Officer I maintains safety and security within CDOC facilities, supporting the mission and values of the department. Responsibilities include inmate supervision, security monitoring, emergency response, and ensuring facility safety.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Conditions of Employment

Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S., possess a valid driver’s license, have no felony convictions, pass a background check, and successfully complete training and health screenings.
