MOT Tester

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, one of the UK's leading automotive tyre and fast fit centre groups, for an experienced MOT Tester to join their busy Trowbridge centre. The MOT Tester role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals seeking to develop their career within a reputable company committed to quality and customer service.

Starting salary from £33,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Performance-related bonuses with a typical on-target earnings of £39,000 (approximately £400 per month)
41.5 hours per week, with overtime subject to availability

Duties of a MOT Tester:

Conduct all aspects of the MOT test to Government standards
Ensure vehicle safety and compliance at all times
Communicate effectively with customers regarding test results, work needed, and reasons for failure where applicable
Support customers through the MOT process, building strong, lasting relationships
Diagnose and carry out associated service and repair work as required
Support workshop operations to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service delivery
Liaise with team members to maintain efficiency and safety standards within the workshop

Requirements of a MOT Tester:

Valid active Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence
Full UK driving licence with minimal points
Ideally hold IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; however, experienced time-served vehicle mechanics with valid MOT licences will also be considered
Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Ability to work efficiently and adhere to strict safety and quality standards
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building customer loyalty
