OverviewWe are seeking a proactive FM Operations Assistant to support the delivery of high quality services across the council’s estate, including hubs, depots, leisure centres and libraries. This role is key to ensuring buildings are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for Facilities Management queries, resolving issues and escalating where needed.
- Manage post services, monitor supplies, support deliveries, porterage and courier duties across the county.
- Assist with office moves, basic maintenance such as painting and decorating, and grounds tasks including safety checks.
- Carry out compliance activities such as fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks and system monitoring.
- Provide first‑line support for building and basic IT issues, manage access cards, and use CAFM systems to record and manage tasks.
- Operate on a rota basis and support different shift patterns as required.
- Experience in a front‑line Facilities Management role.
- Good understanding of health and safety.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organised, confident with IT systems, and able to work independently.
- Hybrid working model – on‑site for at least half the hours for office staff, and community‑based staff work at least half of their admin time in a workplace.
- Customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location.
