As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
Inyour role as a Teaching Assistant:
You will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the National Curriculum alongside the class teacher. In this role, you will help clarify instructions, support children in using learning materials, and encourage them to stay focused and complete their work to the best of their ability. You will play an important part in supporting pupils’ development in key areas such as language, reading, writing, and presentation, while also adapting activities to meet individual needs, including those with additional requirements.
The role involves promoting a positive, inclusive environment by building strong relationships, supporting children’s self-esteem, and encouraging independence and good behaviour. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual learning plans, provide feedback on progress, and contribute to maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will help prepare and manage classroom resources, maintain a safe and well‑organised learning environment, and ensure the wellbeing of all pupils through effective supervision and safeguarding practices.
your role as an MDSA:
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, welfare, and good conduct of children during the lunchtime period, supervising them in dining and play areas while promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies. The role includes setting up and clearing the dining environment, cleaning tables and equipment, and maintaining a tidy and safe space for pupils throughout the lunch break.
The MDSA also provides basic first aid, reports accidents or illnesses, and communicates effectively with children and colleagues to support wellbeing and development. Additionally, the post holder is expected to uphold the school’s ethos, attend training and meetings, and contribute to safeguarding practices by maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
