Laboratory Automation Technician, Trowbridge — an opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Automation Technician based at ALS Trowbridge, within the Food UK Innovation Hub.
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday 40h/week
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Location: Trowbridge, travel within UK required.
The Day to Day- Drive innovation and creative solutions.
- Assist innovation / automation projects from concept to launch, covering all laboratories / operations within the Food UK division.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Work with robotic / automation equipment, both industry ready and bespoke.
- Ongoing support deployed systems and solution within ALS.
- Design user friendly interfaces that are intuitive, including associated training and development.
- A focus on HSE policies and procedures, including risk assessment if new and emerging technologies.
- Have a background in Python or C++, and experience in building GUIs
- Have examples of projects involving 3D modelling, within Fusion or other CAD systems.
- Knowledge of Robotic Arms and their control systems (Dobot, Universal Robotics, KUKA)
- A basic understanding of 3D printing and software used to slice designs
- Ideally, have a background in the use of CNC, with knowledge of the different tools and limitations.
- Annual Leave commencing at 25 days (rising to 30) plus 8 public holidays (pro rata for part time)
