Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

Guildford, Surrey Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 We are looking for a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join an established consultancy team in Guildford. The role involves supporting a range of development and infrastructure projects, with a focus on flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and planning applications.

Key Responsibilities Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for proposed developments. Assess flood risks from rivers, surface water and other sources. Assist with drainage design, calculations and technical reports. Use software such as QGIS, AutoCAD and Micro Drainage/Info Drainage to support assessments and drainage design. Liaise with clients, local authorities, the Environment Agency and water companies. Ensure reports and designs meet relevant planning policy, guidance and industry standards.

Manage project deadlines and work alongside colleagues across planning, transport and infrastructure disciplines. Requirements A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related subject. Experience or an interest in flood risk assessment and drainage engineering. Good written communication and technical report-writing skills. Familiarity with relevant industry software would be beneficial. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
