Financial Controller

.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation making a meaningful difference, taking ownership of a broad finance function and supporting its financial sustainability. Working closely with the SLT and Board of Trustees, you will provide robust financial oversight, strategic insight and effective management of funding, budgets and resources.

• Lead and develop the finance function, including the Payroll Manager and Senior Finance Administrator.
• Oversee management accounts, financial reporting, cash flow and financial controls.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Provide financial insight and advice to the SLT and Board of Trustees.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits and regulatory compliance.
• Manage project accounting, funding budgets and expenditure, ensuring funds are appropriately allocated and reported.
• Monitor financial risks and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and financial sustainability.
• Support senior stakeholders with financial planning and decision-making across the organisation.

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical expertise and experience across financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

You will ideally have experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation, with a good understanding of funding arrangements, restricted funds, grant reporting and project-based accounting. Experience managing and developing a finance team is also important, alongside the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and provide trusted advice at senior level.
