Job Summary

The Department of Political Science at Troy University is accepting applications for a ten‑month, tenure‑track position of Assistant Professor of Political Science, with a concentration in policy studies. The position begins August 1, 2025, and requires an active, promising research agenda and enthusiasm for working with first‑generation students in a diverse setting. Preference will be given to candidates with strengths in research methodology.

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester (4/4 load; undergraduate; face‑to‑face, with potential for fully online courses).
• Maintain an active research agenda.
• Advise students and perform service outside of the department.
• Contribute to Troy University’s identity as “Alabama’s International University.”

• Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Politics, Government, or a related field by August 1, 2025.
• Research specialization in public policy studies.
• Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

• Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses delivered on site and online.
• Strong secondary specialization (e.g., research methods or a regional specialization) that complements existing faculty strengths.
