Job Description
You will be the Sr Manufacturing and Process Engineer (Missile Assembly) for the Pike County Operations (PCO). Our team is responsible for creating high‑tech solutions in advanced missile manufacturing to meet next‑generation warfighter needs.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Sr Manufacturing and Process Engineer (Missile Assembly) you will be responsible for driving technical excellence on the production shop floor, shaping manufacturing processes, and delivering digital tools that boost productivity.
Responsibilities- Analyzing engineering data to develop new manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions.
- Integrating new assets and technologies into the factory.
- Supporting area‑wide continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance quality and reduce cost.
- Investigating root cause of quality defects and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing process equipment and tooling.

Security ClearanceThe selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start. Lockheed Martin will assist the selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF‑regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations.
Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.
- Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline at the Bachelor’s level and 5 years production engineering experience or 3 years production engineering experience and related Master’s degree.
- Knowledgeable of general manufacturing processes with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications.
- Experience conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands‑on abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly and test along with repairing non‑operating tools and equipment.
- Working knowledge/experience of manufacturing mechanical assembly processes, electronic testing methods, factory automation equipment, industrial safety processes, technical writing, and teaming.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications/schematics; understand basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) references; create and maintain Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings.
- Strong hands‑on assembly/disassembly/troubleshooting skills of mechanical, electrical, industrial, and/or home equipment and products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Systems Applications & Products (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools in a manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed.
