Job DescriptionYou will be the Manufacturing Engineer (Flight Test Missile Assembly) for the Pike County Operations (PCO). Our team is responsible for creating high‑tech solutions in advanced missile manufacturing to meet next‑generation warfighter needs.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Manufacturing Engineer (Missile Assembly) – Weekend Shift you will be responsible for solving technical issues on the production shop floor, developing and improving manufacturing processes, integrating new technologies, and enhancing digital tools to boost productivity.
Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on shop‑floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Analyze engineering data to develop new manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions.
- Integrate new assets and technologies into the factory to advance production capabilities.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives that drive quality, cost, and schedule performance.
- Investigate root causes of quality defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications- Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline at the Bachelor level or above and 1+ years professional experience; or 4 years of related professional experience.
- Knowledgeable of General Manufacturing Processes in a Production Factory environment.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands‑on assembly/disassembly/troubleshooting skills to perform or assist in missile assembly and test along with repairing non‑operating tools and industrial equipment.
- Must be willing and able to occasionally rotate to second (nights) or weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) shifts.
- Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF‑regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.
Skills
- Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications to generate manufacturing processes and conduct detailed failure analysis for determining root cause and implementing the corrective/preventive actions to eliminate defects.
- Working knowledge of building & testing military flight test missiles.
- Experience in an Aerospace/Automotive Manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (MES), PTC Creo CAD, Windchill PLM with MPMLink and Systems Applications & Products (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
