About the Role

As a Bookkeeper at Gulla CPA, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our clients’ financial records accurate and up to date. From reconciliations and reporting to payroll filings and sales tax compliance, you’ll have the chance to work across a range of industries while strengthening your technical skills.

That means:

• Taking ownership of client bookkeeping tasks and deadlines
• Collaborating with managers and advisors to support client needs
• Communicating directly with clients to gather documentation and provide clarity
• Balancing day-to-day bookkeeping with opportunities to learn broader accounting processes

Your Core Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Enter and review general journal entries, including payroll entries
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and reconcile to client records when needed
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports (quarterly and annually, including W-2s, 1099s, 940, 941, RT-6)
• Calculate and file sales tax returns
• Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
• Assist with occasional administrative tasks as part of the team effort

Who You Are

• An experienced bookkeeping professional with 3+ years of bookkeeping knowledge and hands-on skills
• Comfortable preparing financial statements (Tax Basis or Accrual)
• Experienced with payroll and sales tax filings
• Proficient in Quick Books Online/Desktop and familiar with other accounting software
• Skilled with Excel and accurate with data entry and keyboarding
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Open to feedback, growth, and contributing beyond your job description
