Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part‑Time Clinical Instructors to teach students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the Troy & Detroit areas.

You will mentor students in an inpatient clinical setting, connecting classroom learning with real‑world patient care. Candidates with a completed MSN are encouraged to apply; teaching experience is not required.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Implementation
    • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
    • Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
    • Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
  • Student Evaluation and Support
    • Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with student knowledge and learning needs.
    • Evaluate and provide documented feedback based on course objectives.
    • Remediate students as required.
    • Correct and return all written work in a timely manner.
  • Clinical Coordination
    • Maintain knowledge of clinical site policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of site personnel.
    • Remain visible and available to staff and students.
  • Program and College Development
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
    • Participate in assessment, campus retention efforts, and policy implementation.
    • May teach simulation/skills lab or didactic courses under supervision.
  • Professionalism and Collaboration
    • Serve as a professional role model for faculty, staff, and students.
    • Use relationship skills for problem‑solving, consensus building, and negotiation.
    • Collaborate with administration to improve college operations and student satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
    • Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
    • Keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
    • Report to the dean or assistant dean with oversight from the course coordinator.
  • Handle related duties and other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered Michigan RN nursing license.
  • Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in an instructional role as a registered nurse.
Additional Information

Expected compensation rate for this role is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience.
