Job Summary
Troy University’s School of Hospitality, Sport & Tourism Management ( HSTM ) offers a Bachelor of Science degree in both online and traditional formats, with majors in Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management or Sport Management.
We are seeking a full-time faculty position at rank of Lecturer/Open-Rank Professor of Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management ( HT E ) to join our team. This 10-month faculty position is based at our Troy, Alabama campus and includes teaching responsibilities primarily in-person, with potential opportunities for online instruction.
Responsibilities- Teaching a variety of undergraduate HTE courses, as well as select HSTM core curriculum courses
- Conducting scholarly research leading to publication in peer-reviewed outlets
- Advising undergraduate students and supervising internships
- Participating in departmental, college, and university committees
- Engaging in professional, community, and university service
- Seeking internal and external funding to support research activities, as appropriate
- Building and maintaining relationships with businesses and organizations in the HTE industry

Minimum QualificationsEarned doctorate or terminal degree in Hospitality/Tourism Management or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution (ABD candidates may be considered at the rank of Lecturer)
Preferred Qualifications- University or college teaching experience
- Evidence of scholarly achievement in the area of expertise
- Professional experience in HTE industry
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
