ASSISTANT DIRECTOR / ENROLLMENT STUDENT SERVICES (2 POSITIONS)
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Enrollment, the Assistant Director will manage a caseload of online students by providing comprehensive support throughout the student journey. The role is responsible for identifying barriers to student progression, problem‑solving, and establishing and maintaining cross‑campus partnerships.
Responsibilities- Initiate follow‑up with prospective students through phone, email, SMS, 1:1 appointments, and live chat.
- Engage prospective, newly admitted, and current students in ongoing communication through campaigns and custom outreach.
- Serve as a liaison to connect students with key university offices and services.
- Support online students by following prescribed recruiting and retention strategies that contribute to the department’s enrollment goals.
- Adhere to programming initiatives that support student engagement and retention.
- Track student enrollment and act as a case manager for stop‑outs and non‑completers for assigned program(s).
- Assist in problem identification and resolution to support student success and persistence.
- Lead or assist with planning and facilitation of recruitment webinars, new‑student orientation, and other student service‑related presentations.
- Assist with events that foster relationships with prospective, new, and current students.
- Collaborate with other student services personnel in support of admissions, new‑student onboarding, registration, financial aid, academic advising, and other services.
- Utilize university systems to monitor online student enrollment and persistence, initiating outreach and referrals as necessary.
- Monitor changes in academic programs to effectively recruit individuals in line with institutional and program goals and expectations.
- Assist in identifying and coordinating necessary changes with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate program information and requirements are displayed in print, digital, and online formats.

- Work collaboratively with and cross‑train other members of the CMU Online enrollment team.
- Perform cohort program student onboarding, registration, and retention management.
- Assist students transitioning between programs and/or campuses.
- Monitor course enrollments and waitlists, assist with go/no‑go decisions, and communicate as necessary with impacted students.
- Utilize institutional information systems for entering, maintaining, and updating student data.
- Compile and analyze data to monitor conversion rates.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but limited to:
- Assist with center operations.
- Manage the proctor schedule.
- Greet faculty and students while facilitating access for center operations and face‑to‑face courses.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Experience qualifying and motivating prospects and conducting student retention outreach.
- Ability to maintain accurate student and other records.
- Ability to compile and analyze data on students throughout the lifecycle, as well as on program‑specific goals and initiatives.
- Ability to project a positive and professional image and provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
