Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively and promptly regarding plant Quality Concern Notifications.
- Prepares and presents status updates on issue resolution to plant management.
- Acts as a key interface with Quality departments.
- Possesses knowledge of the supplier's manufacturing processes.
- Facilitates visits from the supplier's corporate office.
- Understands whether the supplier is design responsible.
- Knows which parts are directed Tier 2 with Multi-Party or Bailment Agreements.
- Has knowledge of specifications.
- Collaborates with Incoming Quality during investigations of emerging quality concerns.
- Follows up daily to ensure defective parts returned to the supplier are delivered.
- Ensures proper cutoff, including parts in transit and sitting in trailers at Ford plants.
- Verifies that certified stock is used on the production line.
- Checks daily that suspect stock is quarantined or returned to the supplier and not reintroduced into the assembly line.
- Understands the part return process for shipped parts.
- Has means to test/check parts (functional/visual).
- Drives issue closure effectively and communicates status through PCA to relevant parties.
- Handles disputes with IQ.
- Attends IQ meetings (if applicable).
- Supports bi-weekly Top Supplier meetings (if applicable).
- Supports daily Plant Quality Meetings (if applicable).
- Possesses knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes & poka yokes; trained in problem-solving techniques such as Black Belt, Green Belt, 8D, etc.
- Conducts surveillance audits for ECB issues and internal plant concern rejects.
- Obtains plant clean points and verifies use of certified stock.
- Follows up with plant contacts to ensure timely sending of 8
Ds. - Facilitates warranty parts shipment to the supplier and follows up to ensure delivery.
- Ensures extraordinary actions / 8
Ds are sent to the plants on time.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Presentation and management skills.
- Prior wiring harness engineering experience.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical structures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Ability to adapt, learn, set expectations, and hold others accountable.
- Resilience and a growth mindset.
- Willingness to share knowledge and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Supports safety, quality, and cost commitments; demonstrates ownership and teamwork.
- Organized and self-sufficient.
- Open to travel.
Education:
- BS in Engineering or equivalent STEM major.
