We are seeking a highly motivated, entry‑level Hydraulic Durability Technician to join our fast‑paced Hydraulic Durability (HD) department. This is a crucial role where you will manage testing projects from start to finish, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical automotive components. Technicians in this group handle all aspects of a project, requiring strong organizational skills and multi‑tasking abilities:

Test Preparation and Setup:
Accurately interpret technical specifications, prepare, and set up test articles, fixtures, and vehicle components. This is a hands‑on role that frequently requires kneeling, bending, and heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Testing and Measurement:
Evaluate test article performance using various measurements and sensors, primarily involving servo hydraulic actuators combined with load cells or accelerometers.

Documentation:
Document detailed test procedures, setup configurations, and results in a clear and timely manner.

Team

Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with supervisors, internal customers, and engineers to provide project updates and resolve technical issues.

Logistics & Maintenance:
Upon test completion, perform removal of samples/fixtures, general cleanup, preparation of items for shipping, and ensure continuous lab cleanliness and organization.

The Hydraulic Durability (HD) department is broken into two key sub‑groups, and Technicians will be shared between both:

Component Group:
Focuses on testing chassis and suspension parts.

MAST Group:
Tests a mix of interior and exterior vehicle components.

Technical Scope:
Setups typically involve installing vehicle parts onto steel or aluminum fixtures and securing them to a t‑slot bed plate or MAST table top. A fundamental part of the job includes the installation and maintenance of hydraulic equipment, basic fixture fabrication/modification, and general setup troubleshooting.

The successful applicant must be a quick learner capable of working independently in a demanding environment. Possession of a valid Driver’s License and a clear driving record. High attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently. Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. unassisted. Demonstrated experience with basic hand and power tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

General computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

General understanding of automotive parts and mechanics. Experience with welding or basic fabrication tools (band saw, drill press, etc.). Experience operating a Hi‑lo/forklift. General understanding of fasteners (metric/standard). Experience with resume and interview process. (This is included as per your input).
