Mechanical Engineer II

We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer II to join our dynamic team. As a full-service architectural and engineering firm, we provide comprehensive design services to markets including education, healthcare, commercial, data centers, research and development, sports, recreation and athletics, and industrial sectors. • Act as project mechanical engineer for the design, development, and documentation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature controls systems on small to medium-sized projects.
• Assist lead project mechanical engineer with similar responsibilities on large and complex projects.
• Perform energy and economic analysis for proposed building systems.
• Research and document any required code review for assigned projects.
• Conduct product research as needed for project development.
• Attend project team coordination meetings and owner review meetings.
• Develop materials for client presentations and review meetings.
• Present mechanical system concepts/designs to clients and/or design review committees.
• Develop and edit project specifications.
• Review product shop drawings/submittals.
• Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs).
• Visit project construction sites to review progress and answer contractor inquiries.
• Maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
• Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and service, and follow up with improvement implementation.

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and design software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, project management, and architecture.
• Experience with HVAC systems and building codes.
• Familiarity with CAD and BIM technologies.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience.
• Significant knowledge of structural design for residential and commercial construction.

• LEED accreditation is a plus.
• BIM experience is advantageous.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

This is a permanent position based out of Troy, MI.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
