Responsibilities- Work on various projects assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer, playing a role in the entire design process
- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Leading designs with support from peers, SME’s, and BIM designers
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are completed on time
- Design and develop security solutions for buildings, facilities, and sites
- Create schematics, schedules, and plan drawings
- Perform calculations for video storage, bandwidth usage, and power loads
- Contribute to cross‑discipline coordination
- Identify potential conflicts or inconsistencies with architectural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams
- Demonstrate willingness to learn, dedication to growth in a rapidly evolving technology field, and a commitment to join a strong team
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related technical/scientific discipline; master’s degree preferred - Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- Professional security certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP, etc.) are a plus
- 12+ years of professional experience in planning, designing, and commissioning physical security systems and/or communication networks; project management experience is a plus
- Technical Expertise:
- In‑depth knowledge of physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, and intrusion detection, and familiarity with leading manufacturers
- Experience conducting vulnerability and risk assessments, understanding various assessment methodologies
- Ability to evaluate emerging security technologies and analyze trade‑offs, such as multi‑megapixel cameras, thermal imaging cameras, ground‑based radar, Lidar, and other perimeter intrusion detection technologies
- Strong understanding of network technologies and cybersecurity principles
- Skills:
- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide/receive constructive feedback
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Tools & Software:
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and design collaboration tools
- Experience with Revit, ACC, BIM
360, AutoCAD, and/or Micro Station - Thorough knowledge of CSI design and construction specifications
- Experience estimating and scheduling mid‑to‑large‑scale project design effort
- Knowledge of construction cost estimating for security implementation
- Preferred:
Experience leading projects and managing resources; mentoring junior staff; design management experience; design experience in data centers
