Senior Mechanical Engineer-Construction

Talascend is currently seeking three Senior Mechanical Engineers for direct hire opportunities with our client in Troy, Michigan. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead project teams working with top architects, contractors, and facility owners across diverse markets. You'll apply creative solutions to complex challenges and guide projects from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or proven equivalent experience)
• 15-25 years of experience in HVAC system design across diverse building types

• Proven experience leading project teams and managing multiple projects through all phases
• Proficiency in BIM tools (AutoCAD and Revit) with a track record of delivering quality, efficient designs
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical, creative solutions to complex challenges
• Success in building and maintaining lasting client relationships
• Active participation in business development and client engagement
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering team growth
• Strategic thinking with attention to technical details
• Excellent communication skills with internal teams, clients, architects, and contractors
• Ability to work effectively across disciplines to drive project success
• Self-driven and adaptable with a commitment to continuous learning

• PE desired not required

• Mechanical engineer specializing in MEP systems for healthcare facilities
• Extensive background in the design of HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems for hospitals, outpatient clinics, laboratories, and other medical environments.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare-specific codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI Guidelines)
• Proven ability to design systems for critical healthcare spaces such as operating rooms, isolation rooms, compounding pharmacies, and intensive care units
• Experienced in new construction and complex renovations within active healthcare facilities

• Experience designing MEP systems for academic buildings, research labs, student housing, and campus facilities
