Job Responsibilities:

Magna's Advanced Product & Process Technologies (APPT) team is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer – Electrical & Electronics Product and Process Technologies to support the development, evaluation, and industrialization of next-generation automotive electrical and electronic systems.

This role bridges advanced product development and manufacturing process innovation, with a focus on automotive electrical and electronic (EE) architectures, powertrain electronics, battery systems, electric motors, embedded systems, and electronics manufacturing technologies. Successful candidate will contribute across the technology lifecycle, from concept development and simulation through prototyping, manufacturing process development, industrialization, and technology transfer.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical and electronic engineering expertise with practical experience in design for manufacturing, manufacturing process development, product industrialization, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Design for Manufacturing & Industrialization Lead and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) activities throughout product development.

Improve manufacturability, quality, reliability, testability, scalability, and cost efficiency of electrical and electronic products.

Develop engineering guidelines, best practices, and technology roadmaps related to product industrialization.

Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturing considerations are incorporated early in product development.

Manufacturing Process Development Develop and assess manufacturing processes for electronic modules, PCB assemblies, power electronics, harnesses, battery systems, motors, and related electrical/electronic products.

Define process flows, equipment concepts, tooling, automation strategies, inspection methods, traceability requirements, and end-of-line test approaches.

Support prototype builds, pilot production activities, process validation, and production readiness assessments.

Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to support successful technology deployment and production launch.

Advanced Manufacturing & Digital Technologies Investigate and apply advanced manufacturing technologies including automation, robotics, machine vision, smart manufacturing, and digital engineering tools.

Explore applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, manufacturing analytics, computer vision, and digital twins to improve quality, productivity, and process capability.

Support development of innovative solutions for process optimization, defect prevention, predictive maintenance, and manufacturing intelligence.
