Overview

NSNA Senior Manager of Finance role at N.S. International, Ltd (hybrid position: 2 days onsite / 3 days offsite) located in Troy, MI. Nippon Seiki is a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. NSI is a group company of Nippon Seiki and NSI is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for major OEMs.

This role is categorized as a hybrid position, 2 days onsite / 3 days offsite

Purpose of Job

This position oversees all aspects of finance and FP&A for Nippon Seiki North America (NSNA), including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, and budgeting. It leads the development of NSNA’s annual budget and supports strategic roadmaps to meet financial targets. It provides forecasting to identify gaps between actuals and targets to help the executive team develop recovery plans. The role analyzes monthly performance against plan, identifies issues, and supports problem-solving and process improvement initiatives at both the entity and consolidated NSNA levels.

It leads finance teams across NSNA locations, ensuring internal controls and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations. It designs and develops procedures and policies related to the cost accounting system. It supervises, mentors, and develops the Accounting, Finance, Costing, and FP&A teams, including work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, annual objectives aligned with company goals, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.

This position reports directly to the NSNA Senior Director of Finance, Business Planning, and Business Quality Management.

Major Duties / Responsibilities
  • Budget / Business Planning: Facilitate and lead the development of the NSNA corporate budget. Evaluate the financial impact of long-range planning, new programs/strategies, and regulatory changes. Deliver timely, accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to support NSNA leadership in decision-making. Create, establish, and track annual objectives aligned with NSNA’s business plan.
  • Budget Monitoring, Forecasting and Performance Analysis: Oversee ongoing monitoring of NSNA’s budget, actual performance, and forecasts. Assess financial performance, identify variances and risks. Deliver reports, insights, and projections to management in a timely manner. Support issue resolution and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
  • Communication: Engage with NSNA Executive Management and Nippon Seiki Headquarters (NSHQ). Participate in leadership meetings and decision-making. Provide consistent communication on key developments within Accounting, Finance, and FP&A. Establish and communicate annual financial objectives aligned with NSNA’s business strategy.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Directly supervise Finance and Accounting Senior Managers and oversee Accounting, Finance, and FP&A personnel across NSNA. Lead recruitment, development, and performance management; foster growth opportunities. Continuously evaluate the Finance division’s structure to enhance efficiency and alignment with goals. Strengthen financial policies and procedures to improve operations and effectiveness.
  • Process Improvement & Policy Implementation: Lead continuous improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Educate department managers on financial factors affecting budgets. Implement financial policies and processes aligned with senior leadership. Execute and report on projects assigned by the NSNA Senior Director of Finance, Business Planning, and Business Quality Management.
  • Costing and Transfer Price Management: Lead the APA scheme with NSHQ, monitor operating profit of NSNA entities, and adjust transfer pricing as needed. Support lifetime costing per NSHQ methodologies. Redesign and develop the costing and transfer pricing framework; collaborate cross-functionally with NSNA and NSHQ. Provide costing data as required by NSHQ.
Education, Experience and Knowledge

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
  • CPA preferred
