Tax Manager

Our client is a well-established tax, accounting, and consulting firm based in Troy, Michigan. Known for its personalized service and depth of expertise, the firm supports individuals and businesses with services like tax planning, audit representation, business valuation, and strategic consulting.

With a high concentration of experienced CPAs and over 125 years of combined experience, the team is committed to delivering technically sound, client-focused solutions.

This individual will lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. The ideal candidate has experience in consulting with the Controller, CFO, and CEO of small to mid-size businesses. They will be relied upon to review individual, corporate, and other various tax returns.

• Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate advanced knowledge of clients’ businesses.
• Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
• Handles federal, state, and local tax audits.
• Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities.
• Trains and supervises staff, reviews, and evaluates their work.

• Masters degree in taxation preferred.
• 6+ years prior experience in public accounting and tax.
• Significant supervisory experience (2+ years).
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills: proficiency preferred in MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
• Well-rounded in dealing with high-net-worth individuals and businesses.
