General Summary

Under general supervision of the Finance Director or Manager, performs or assists with a variety of accounting/finance/reporting functions.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
  • Accounts payable duties. Oversee data entry to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices for services, goods, and products.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations for multiple depositing locations.
  • Follow-up on NSF checks.
  • Prepare daily deposits for miscellaneous checks.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with month‑end close process.
  • Provide accounting support for lab central and all office locations.
  • Advanced financial responsibilities: month‑end close, daily reconciliations.

Partnering with other departments on projects or reporting;
Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate accounting of insurance related payment activity.

  • Compliance & Reporting Impact:
    Work tied to regulatory compliance or operational efficiency.
  • Analyzing financed patient purchases.
Education/Experience Required
  • Requires an Associate’s degree;
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products:
    Outlook, Excel, Word, Access.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • People Soft experience preferred.
Certifications/Licencures Required

Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy. Must practice the customer skills as provided through ongoing training and in‑services.
