• Hybrid position requiring you to work 3 days a week from our HQ office located in Troy, Michigan.
• We will NOT be sponsoring employment visas.

About the Role

The Dev Ops Engineer at Intrepid Control Systems will automate service deployment, management, and scaling, help ship new applications, and debug production issues across application and system layers with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Node.js and Java development and deployment, strong Linux skills, Docker and Kubernetes, Git Lab CI/CD, GCP and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure components.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to address root causes.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of infrastructure components.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and physical/virtual server stacks.
• Collaborate on incident response plans and supporting documentation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

Position Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in cloud software engineering and/or operations.
• Experience with scripting and automation in Bash, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git version control platforms such as Git Lab, Git Hub, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing performance and reliability problems in production systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with Linux systems.
• Experience with GCP or AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with application performance monitoring (APM);
  Nagios and Grafana preferred.
• Familiar with current industry best practices for security, including SDLC processes and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Database maintenance knowledge or past DBA experience.
• Experience with PKI systems.
• Experience with OAuth2/OIDC.
• Experience working with or developing against SaaS APIs.
• Experience building and maintaining systems at scale.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS or NIST.

Salary Description

$130,000 - $150,000 Annually
