** ABOUT SLATE
** At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.**| ABOUT
THE ROLE
** We're looking for a Digital Asset Management Specialist to own and evolve our brand's asset ecosystem spanning photography, video, motion graphics, documents and print/digital design files. You'll be the steward of our DAM platform, ensuring every asset is organized, tagged, discoverable, and distributed correctly across internal teams, agencies, and external partners, while driving the system's evolution through PIM integration, AI-powered tagging, and automated workflows.**|
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
**** Asset Operations & Governance
*** Administer and maintain the DAM platform, including folder architecture, taxonomy, metadata schemas, custom fields, and user permissions (including SSO/SAML configuration)
* Own asset ingestion workflows for photo, video, motion, documents, print collateral, and digital design files from in-house shoots, hired shooters, and design teams, and other company stakeholders
* Maintain version history and check-in/check-out discipline so in-progress assets stay traceable and current assets stay authoritative
* Audit the library regularly using built-in duplicate detection, flagging and resolving redundant uploads
* Manage asset licensing, usage rights, model/talent releases, and expiration dates, flagging renewals or takedowns as needed
** Metadata, Taxonomy & AI Tagging
*** Develop and enforce naming conventions, tagging standards, and custom-field taxonomy that scale across departments (marketing, commercial, PR, experiential, accessories, digital and more)
* Configure and manage bulk metadata conversions to auto-generate tags and custom fields from embedded file metadata, reducing manual tagging workload
* Lead integration between the DAM and PIM (Product Information Management) systems, keeping product data, specs, and approved imagery synced across channels
* Evaluate and manage facial/people recognition tagging to streamline talent tracking, usage rights enforcement, and searchability of people-based content
* Manage multi-language asset details and bulk translations, asset names, descriptions, tags, and custom fields, to support content across regions/markets
** Print & Digital Design Workflows
*** Manage print and digital templating through the DAMs template Editor, PrintUI, and InDesign ingest, enabling non-designers to self-generate on-brand materials from locked templates
* Maintain the CI Hub integration with Adobe Creative Cloud, enabling bi-directional asset sync for designers working directly in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
* Support print production files (print-ready PDFs, die lines, CMYK profiles) alongside standard photo/video formats
** Workflow & Collaboration
*** Configure custom workflows and approval chains within the DAM, and connect them to our project management tracker so asset approval status stays visible end-to-end
* Leverage proofing for review/approval cycles on creative deliverables
* Train internal teams, agency partners, and new hires on DAM best practices, search/retrieval, and tagging standards
* Generate reporting on asset usage, library health, tagging accuracy, and adoption metrics for leadership
* Collaborate with IT/legal on data governance, access security, and retention policies**| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
*** 3–5 years of experience in digital asset management, media operations, or a related field
* Hands-on experience administering a DAM platform:
Brandfolder experience strongly preferred;
Bynder, Widen, or Adobe AEM also considered
* Strong understanding of metadata structures, custom fields, and taxonomy design at scale, including bulk/CSV-based metadata management
* Familiarity with photo/video production formats (RAW, Pro Res, PSD, layered files) as well as print production files and digital design assets (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
* Experience with PIM platforms (Akeneo, Salsify, in River, Plytix, or similar) and connecting product data to asset libraries
* Exposure to AI-driven/automated tagging and metadata generation, and how machine-generated tags integrate with human-curated taxonomy
*…
