RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Manager, Direct Material Purchasing in our Troy, MI facility!
What You Will Do- Build working relationships with key stakeholders in the business including engineering, program management, customer sales, manufacturing, and purchasing category managers.
- Lead the team to deliver program sourcing plans on time and on budget, while achieving cross-program strategies and objectives.
- Co-Champion a strategic reset and value capture program for key commodities by driving a robust strategic sourcing process and deploying cost reduction levers. Consolidate spend across legacy and new ownership to optimize sourcing and supply chain options.
- Develop metrics/KPIs that measure performance, total cost of ownership (TCO), and profitability for the organization and the supply base.
- Achieve current-year plant performance and cost targets. Manage a portfolio of direct material initiatives and forecast to meet annual targets.
- Foster strong supplier relationships with direct material suppliers for collaboration, innovation, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Define supplier expectations and work with suppliers to advance value creation. Establish supplier communication to review performance and align on prioritized projects and initiatives. Manage strategic supplier relationships.
- 5+ years of relevant management experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Operations
- Willing and able to travel as required (up to 25%)
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain or Business Management
- Experience with engineering, manufacturing, or raw materials within the Automotive Industry
- Experience leading through influence (e.g., cross-functional teams, indirect reports)
- Experience in mergers, integration, or value capture; in private equity or consulting
