Location: Troy, MI

We’re looking for an experienced Controller to join our team. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the VP of UPI and to the Kaiser Enterprise Controller
, responsible for managing financial performance and overseeing all accounting operations for the UPI business unit.

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job costing, WIP schedules, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple departments.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting staff (AP, AR, Payroll).
• Oversee job cost reporting and project profitability analysis.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and financial procedures.
• Coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Industry experience in construction is required.
• Familiarity with mechanical/HVAC or piping industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP accounting, and project‑based reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a growing, fast‑paced, and hands‑on environment.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
