2 North is a 22‑bed short‑stay surgical unit, specializing in women’s health surgeries, plastic surgery, urologic surgery, and general surgery. The unit also manages a mixture of inpatient and observation medical patients. It is a fast‑paced unit that emphasizes teamwork and quality care. A team member should possess strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision‑making skills.

Scope of WorkThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and discharges patients, incorporating patient‑family centered care principles. The RN also collaborates with families, develops teaching strategies, documents education, and follows Corewell Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Associate’s in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s in Nursing required within five years.
- Graduates from a non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation required.
