• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and ensure correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using a variety of utensils and equipment.
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality for freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, etc.) properly.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products on request.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Gain knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions.
• Monitor inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates; create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines; reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs; report accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced or stressful environment and manage conflict professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support to customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
