Pharmacy Technician II - Rx Solutions Center - Hybrid
Location:
Upper Valley Medical Center;
Shift: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM, with 3rd shift coverage. Position Status:
Full Time / 80 hours per pay period. Facility:
Upper Valley Medical Center.
Under the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures, compounds and dispenses medications, provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders, performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs, is responsible for medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral, participates in codes, supervises interns and technicians in all work areas assigned, participates in training pharmacy students and technicians, and participates in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.
QualificationsEducation:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy or Pharm
D from an accredited college of pharmacy. Licensure:
Ohio pharmacist licensure in good standing or eligible for licensure with the State of Ohio. Certification: ACLS obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
Minimum no prior job‑related work experience. Preferred: greater than or equal to a six‑month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist. Other experience:
Exclusive retail experience >5 years discouraged; >10 years disqualifies candidate.
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and write printed material in English.
- Ability to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counseling.
- Ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team.
- Proficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoods.
- Must be customer‑service oriented.
- Proficiency with computer keyboard operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training.
- Must be familiar with pharmacy software.
- Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers.
