POSITION SUMMARY
Judge Jeannine N. Pratt of the Miami County Common Pleas Court, General Division, is accepting applications for a Staff Attorney position.
QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must be a licensed attorney in Ohio in good standing with at least 5 years of experience in civil and criminal practice. The successful candidate must have superior legal research and writing skills, strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The candidate must be organized, detailed and accurate in providing an exceptional work product.
The candidate must be able to manage a large case docket and work independently to timely complete tasks. The candidate must also possess proficient computer skills in Westlaw, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
The Staff Attorney reports directly to the judge and is responsible for conducting legal research, reviewing legal documents and issues, drafting memorandum, and providing administrative support to the judge and other staff members. Additional duties include interacting professionally with court staff and attorneys, filling in for court staff, providing legal support during trials, drafting and researching, and assisting with the Court’s administrative duties.
Strong research and analytical skills are required. These duties are illustrative only and you may perform some or all of these duties or other job‑related duties as assigned.
