Job Description
This first shift Assembler position starts at $18.80 an hour and is responsible for assembly operations connected with main and final assembly, sub‑assembly, packing, troubleshooting, repair, and adjustment of stainless‑steel commercial models to meet exacting operating performance. Units are built complete at a single workstation. These positions may require daily and/or weekend overtime to meet customer expectations. Utilizing hand tools, power tools, fixtures, hoists, and work instructions, the assembler will also use combined knowledge of mechanical technology and electrical components to complete production tasks.
Responsibilities- Assembles and repairs equipment according to work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications using hand tools, power tools and precision instruments.
- Uses basic hand and power tools to assist in fitting and aligning parts, maintaining close bearing and sliding fits, and sealing for water and steam tight assemblies.
- Reads process sheets, blueprints, and work instructions to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations.
- Performs visual inspections of equipment parts for defects related to fit, form or function.
- Works within a team environment to execute weekly production schedules measured for productivity.
- Demonstrates a high level of competency on assembly of machines.
- Assembles, packs and/or crates finished products and parts in a variety of crates or boxes.
- Performs responsibilities and tasks following quality and safety practices and procedures.
- Accepts responsibility for all housekeeping protocols and reports any inventory concerns to supervisor.
- Adheres to all plant rules and maintains proper attendance standards according to company policy.
- Works and communicates well with others in a cross‑functional team environment.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous assembly experience preferred.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrated basic proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and instructions to perform assembly in proper order and sequence.
- Ability to physically perform tasks such as standing, pivoting, leaning, stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds as required.
- Ability to work prolonged periods of standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment.
Starting pay $18.80 per hour. Tops out at $23.50 per hour after 6 months.
