Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role ensures the safety, quality, and continuity of care for patients across diverse clinical settings, supporting optimal patient outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
Required
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
Required
Work Experience:
- None required
- clinical experience during nursing program accepted.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Skills:
- Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation
- effective verbal and written communication
- proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient assignments
- ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary care teams
- commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards
- knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
Competencies:
- Nursing competencies are based on ACHC standards or department specific needs/specialties
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Preferred
Work Experience:
- One year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or relevant specialty setting.
Preferred Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or specialty certification applicable to clinical area.
