, you’ll be at the heart of what we do: diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar machines out in the field. Whether it’s a dozer, excavator, wheel loader, or haul truck, you’ll use your skills and experience to deliver top‑tier service that keeps our customers moving.
- Diagnostics and repair on heavy equipment, including Caterpillar engines and drive‑train components, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect and maintain equipment, and rebuild components to ensure optimal performance.
- Additional duties include servicing Air Conditioning systems, maintaining detailed service records, collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs, and adhering to all safety protocols within the shop environment.
- Capable of working independently in the field
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer literacy
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
- In‑depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System)
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED, plus completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment.
- Class B or A Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record following Ohio CAT standards, with ability to drive a manual transmission.

Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. - The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
