At Truckee Pediatric Dentistry
, we don’t do “cleanings.”

We do hygiene appointments with purpose
—the kind that build confidence, prevent disease, and help kids grow up loving their smiles.

We’re looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist who’s curious, compassionate, and excited about making a real difference in the lives of teens and pre‑teens (and having some fun while doing it).

We believe hygiene visits should be:

✨ Educational, not rushed

✨ Preventive, not reactive

✨ Encouraging, not judgmental

✨ Personalized, not cookie‑cutter

Our hygienists are educators, problem‑solvers, and partners to families—not just tooth polishers. You’ll use technology, conversation, and collaboration to help kids move from risk to health (and cheer them on along the way).

• Primary focus on teens & pre‑teens, with the option to use ultrasonic scaling
• Leading meaningful hygiene visits tailored to each child’s age and risk level
• Completing CAMBRA‑aligned caries risk assessments at every visit
• Using iTero scans and images to help kids and parents actually see what’s going on
• Recommending preventive and restorative care based on risk—not guesswork
• Educating families in clear, kind, non‑judgmental language
• Setting 1–2 realistic goals with parents and kids (because small wins matter)
• Celebrating what’s going well—not just pointing out problems
• Communicating confidently with doctors, assistants, and front office
• Documenting thoroughly and coding accurately (the not‑fun‑but‑important part)

By the end of your appointment:

• The child understands their teeth (at least a little!)
• The parent feels confident and supported
• Risk factors and strengths are clearly identified
• Goals are set—and feel doable
• The visit feels purposeful, not rushed

• Are a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist in California
• Genuinely enjoy working with kids and parents
• Believe prevention and education are the heart of hygiene
• Feel comfortable discussing fluoride, sealants, caries risk, and treatment options
• Love using technology—or are excited to learn
• Communicate with warmth, clarity, and confidence
• Want to practice at a top rated office in a supportive environment
