Position: Shuttle Transportation Ambassador (Winter 25/26)

Overview

Winter Transportation Ambassador (Shuttle Driver) at Martis Camp Club, Tahoe’s premier private community. Shuttle operations include scheduled service from Lookout Lodge to Northstar Village and on-demand door-to-door service within the Martis Camp community. Wage range: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience. Positions are part-time with 1, 2, or 3 days a week; all part-time shifts require Saturdays or Sundays and flexibility to work during school holidays (Christmas/New Year;

MLK Weekend; President’s Week). Shuttle Department operates on a 4/10s schedule (4 ten-hour shifts). Positions and training shifts begin in early December.

Martis Camp Ambassadors are the face of the guest experience, maintaining hospitality standards and collaborating with the Winter Transportation Manager and Lookout Lodge team to ensure an exceptional winter experience for members and guests.

Position Summary

A Winter Transportation Ambassador (Shuttle Driver) operates under the direction of the Winter Transportation Manager, delivering safety, service, and hospitality standards. They are the first and last point of contact for members and guests and are responsible for safe, courteous transportation within and around the Martis Camp community.

Shuttle responsibilities include running a scheduled service between Lookout Lodge and Northstar Village Transportation Circle, and providing on-demand, door-to-door service as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Operate all shuttle vehicles safely in winter driving conditions.
  • Transport members and their guests, on and off property.
  • Learn and describe the Northstar ski experience to help members navigate the Northstar Village.
  • Demonstrate strong, positive communication and foster a cooperative environment with Ambassadors and Club Members.
  • Work face-to-face with members, guests, and fellow Ambassadors in close quarters.
  • Maintain a superior service attitude and professional appearance; anticipate member needs.
  • Communicate efficiently by cell phone and radio with professional etiquette.
  • Track activity counts daily and provide a completed report to the Transportation Manager.
  • Be flexible with schedules, including availability on weekends and holidays.
  • Arrive punctually, considering winter driving conditions.
  • Perform other duties as needed to enhance safety and support Martis Camp’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

  • Ability to interact positively with individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency with the shuttle app and dispatch calls.
  • High ethical and professional standards, including personal presentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and strong time management with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a valid CDL with passenger endorsement; pass biennial medical examinations.
  • Must be over 21 with at least three years of licensed driving experience.
  • Provide a copy of a clean DMV record upon offer of employment.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen (negative) as per Federal DOT regulations.
  • Pass pre-employment background screen (will transport unaccompanied minors).

Preferred Requirements

  • Comfortable driving in adverse conditions, especially at night and in winter weather.
  • Ability to operate snow removal equipment (training provided).
  • Ability to operate a pressure washer.
  • Flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation)

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ski and snowboard equipment loading/unloading performed by drivers daily.
  • Hearing and verbal communication abilities for collaboration using phones, radios, and computers.
