Outpatient Psychologist Position at Smilow Cancer Hospital
We are seeking a full‑time Psychologist (1.0 FTE) to join the NEMG Psychiatry Office/Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, in Trumbull. The position offers flexible scheduling with either four 10‑hour shifts or five 8‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The role focuses on providing psychotherapy services with opportunities for neuropsychological testing (preferred). You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes two full‑time APRNs, one full‑time social worker, and a part‑time psychiatrist.

Responsibilities- Evaluates individuals and assesses their needs as well as family problems.
- Provides individual, family, or group therapy where appropriate.
- Functions as an effective member of the Department of Psychiatry/Bridgeport Hospital.
- Documents work with patients.
- Demonstrates commitment to personal growth and competency.
- Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care.
Education: Graduate from an accepted graduate study program in Clinical Psychology. A Ph.D. or PsyD is required.
Experience: 3–5 years preferred; new graduates may be considered.
Licensure: Must be licensed by the State of CT.
Special SkillsExperience in the psychological assessment of children, adolescents, and adults. Some experience in an outpatient clinical setting is preferred.
Physical DemandMMR is required. Varivax (chickenpox vaccine) or evidence of prior chickenpox is required. Hepatitis B (or signed declination) is required for those with potential exposure to blood/body fluids. Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged.
