We are seeking forward-thinking Consultant Geriatricians who want more than a traditional consultant role. This is an opportunity to become a key architect of the future of frailty, Parkinson's disease, stroke and community-based eldercare services across Cornwall.
Working within a progressive and highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will have the freedom to shape services, develop new pathways and drive innovation across acute, community and integrated care settings. Whether your passion is acute frailty, orthogeriatrics, movement disorders, dementia, stroke, community geriatrics or surgical liaison, we will support you to develop and grow your specialist interests. From our award-winning frailty model and dedicated Frailty Take service, through to community rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease services, stroke care and integrated multidisciplinary working, we are creating seamless pathways that deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
As a Consultant Geriatrician at RCHT, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead service transformation and quality improvement initiatives.
Develop pioneering approaches to frailty and complex care.
Shape emerging specialties such as surgical liaison and perioperative medicine.
Influence countywide care pathways alongside primary care, community and social care partners.
Participate in research and innovation programmes, particularly within Parkinson's disease and frailty services.

About us A Truly Integrated Countywide Service Our Older People's Services team delivers care across acute hospitals, community hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and outpatient settings, creating one of the most integrated geriatric medicine services in the South West.
You'll work alongside:
Expert Consultant Geriatricians with specialist interests across the breadth of elderly medicine.
Dedicated Frailty, Parkinson's Disease and Stroke specialist nurses.
Community Parkinson's teams and rehabilitation partners.
Allied Health Professionals and Old Age Psychiatry colleagues.
Research, education and quality improvement teams driving continual advancement of services.
Academic, Educational and Research Excellence Consultants play a key role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and have opportunities to become involved in academic programmes, research studies and educational leadership.
Our established links with tertiary centres, including North Bristol NHS Trust, and active Parkinson's disease research portfolio create exciting opportunities for clinical innovation and collaborative working.
