Senior Support and Review Therapeutic Radiographer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Support and Review Therapeutic Radiographer to join our radiotherapy department. In this key clinical role, you will provide advanced support for patients undergoing radiotherapy and ensuring high quality, patient centred care throughout their treatment pathway. You will act as a senior point of expertise within the review service, undertaking independent patient assessments, consenting radiotherapy patients and managing radiotherapy related toxicities.
This role is ideal for a radiographer with strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality supportive care.
Hours of work may be flexible and will reflect the needs of the Service. Radiotherapy treatment is routinely delivered with shifts between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, some shift working may be required on Service days until 8pm.
Main duties of the jobThrough formal consultation sees all patients prior to radiotherapy to explain the intended treatment.
Gains written consent on all aspects of radiotherapy and chemo radiation to patients and their carers.
Clinically assesses and monitors all patients undergoing radiotherapy in accordance with agreed protocols using clinical decision making skills.
Conducts clinical examinations during formal consultation of patients receiving radiotherapy.
Refer patients to medical team as appropriate following formal clinical assessment. Writes and regularly reviews all SOPSs and forms relating to the review area for the department's Quality Management System.
Contributes to discussions at professional work groups/meetings.

Person Specification Qualifications- DCR(T) / BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- MSc Module in reviewing patients during radiotherapy or commitment to obtain within 2 years of being in post
- Non-medical prescribing
- Management training
- MSc Module in Radiographer Prescribing
- At least 4 years' post diploma/graduate experience, of which at least 2 years in a senior position
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience of working at an advanced level within a multidisciplinary setting
- Experience of teaching and presenting to a wide variety of professional groups
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to make judgements over a wide range or complex options
- Able to assess and act upon patients' condition
