The Royal Cornwall Hospital is the main acute healthcare provider for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly providing a full range of services accessed by more than 600,000 people a year. The Clinical Imaging Service is county wide offering patient's high quality diagnostics in their local community hospital or specialist services at the Royal Cornwall, St Michaels and West Cornwall Hospitals.
We are looking for a self-motivated compassionate, caring, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to help and support the clinical staff within the Clinical Imaging Department.
Although based at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, the post-holder will be required to travel to community sites on an ad-hoc basis and therefore the ability to travel independently between sites and have unrestricted access to a motor vehicle insured for business purposes is required.
Main duties of the jobThe Clinical Imaging Assistant will be required to undertake a very wide range of duties under the direct supervision of the Clinical Imaging staff and these will encompass clerical, patient care and the transportation of patients to all Imaging departments.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with good inter-personal skills, have a practical approach and mechanical aptitude. A good general education is necessary including basic IT skills. Previous experience working with patients or customers and basic clerical / keyboard skills and computer literacy are essential for the post. Previous experience as a carer would be desirable.

Person Specification Qualifications- Good education to include Grade A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and/or relevant NVQ Level 2
- Prior experience of working with the general public
- Computer literate with basic IT skills
- Previous experience of working within the NHS of Healthcare system
- Effective and adaptable communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to a consistently high standard
- Able to complete pre-procedural checks in at least one modality
- Basic patient observation skills
- Take responsibility for developing one self and motivated to learn
- Flexible in working patterns and location
- Ability to travel and work across sites
