Senior Mental Health Nurse – Mid Intensive Assertive Team

We have an opportunity for a motivated and passionate Band 6 RMN’s to become part of our established team within Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We work with individuals with severe and enduring mental health illness aged 18 to 75. You will work with a group of service users who have complex psychosis and high levels of need to facilitate high quality and effective integrated health and social care interventions.

Main duties of the job

This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county, including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates must demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to take a proactive and assertive approach in delivering care to those with complex needs who struggle to engage with services.
  • Collaborate across a multi‑agency system to ensure care is joined up and best meets the needs of the individual.
  • Provide assessment, care planning, and direct nursing care to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with NHS and Trust policies.
  • Provide crisis and risk management support, including assessment and management of safety concerns.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
  • Current professional registration – NMC
  • Evidence of post‑basic training
Experience
  • Extensive experience of working with mental health patients
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills
  • Teaching and assessing in clinical practice
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
