An experienced senior Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner is required to lead and develop the multi‑disciplinary team in Delivery Theatres.
We regularly support learners from multiple disciplines. The appointed Theatre Team Lead will be expected to rotate between maternity, gynae and urology theatres.
You will need to be a good leader, communicator, role model and have excellent standards of practice.

Main duties of the jobThe purpose of the Team Leader (TL) position is to provide ongoing professional and clinical leadership to the theatre teams who are delivering perioperative care, whilst working collaboratively with the clinicians (surgeon and anaesthetist) as part of the wider multi‑professional team.
The TL will assume the delegated responsibility for managing and leading the delivery of care, in a rostered shift, for patients entering the department.
The appointed Theatre Team Lead will be expected to rotate between delivery, gynae and urology theatres.
This includes the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation for every individual patient’s programme of care.
Person Specification Qualification / registration- NMC / HCPC registered
- Basic knowledge of information technology platforms e.g. Excel
- Recognised Anaesthetic / theatre qualification
- Educated to degree level in a relevant topic or equivalent experience.
- Information technology qualification
- Theatre experience
- Minimum of 3 years - Evidence of experience with relevant specialty/service - maternity, gynae and urology.
- Ability to work internal rotation to late shift duty
- Adaptable to cope with change/variable workload which can be emotionally and mentally demanding.
- Audit - clinical / research experience
- Evidence of having developed team working skills and implemented team working practices - this includes the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve all team members.
- Effective leadership skills and an understanding of leadership and change management practice
- Mentor / coaching experience
- Three years
