Salary: £33,150 - £34,840 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for passionate and dedicated support workers to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a Children’s Home. This full‑time, permanent role is based in Truro and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. If you are committed to providing compassionate care in a warm and positive environment, this could be the ideal role for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly, and supportive environment within the home.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
  • Provide personal care when necessary, supporting independence and well‑being.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all service users, adhering to care plans and guidelines.
  • Support individuals with complex needs, including those with ADHD, Autism (ASD), or mild learning disabilities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support individuals in developing life skills.
  • Keep up-to-date with individual care plans, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
Requirements
  • Experience working as an adult support worker or in a similar setting is essential.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Adult Social Care is essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people and making a difference.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence, as travel between sites may be required.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Ability to deliver an integrated approach to care and support individuals with complex needs.
